Purteen Rocks, Achill
Purteen Rocks, as its name suggests, is a collection of rocky shoreline close to Purteen harbour.
Fishing Purteen Rocks guide
Take the road down to the harbour but park off to the right just next to the water station before you get to the harbour.
Walk along the fence-line over grass until you reach the rocks.
Fishing here can be undertaken anywhere along these rocks heading west towards Pollagh or for the brave around the apex further along heading towards Dooagh. A floation vest is advised here as the grounds is terrible if wet and the sea suges can be very dangerous.
Fishing alone is not advised due to the remoteness of these marks but well worth the effort.
